Awaken Yoga Festival | Sharing Conscious Connected Breathwork with the South African Community

It was a blessing to be a part of this weekend.

The ultimate festival location is a yoga weekend on Glencairn Farm in the Foothills of the Southern Drakensberg. Surrounded by green, rolling lawns and wooded forests, this land awakens your senses to the beauty of life within and around us.

On Friday, mid-afternoon, around 75+ individuals settled into the beautiful, newly built, double-volume Il de France venue. The rain was hammering down on the tin roof above us. We kicked off the weekend with a powerful, collective breath, making space within our minds and bodies and opening up to the potentiality that is ever present for us. It was a powerful session, and the turnout blew me away. The weekend was off to a bang!

An array of yoga instructors, musicians, dance facilitators, sound healers, and speakers were on offer, as well as delicious food options: trail runs, tractor rides, and the infamous giant inflatable slide that spits you out into the cool dam waters—a highlight for my kids.

My final session was at 'Roosters Call' on Sunday Morning. The air was foggy and cold, and the ground wet. I entered the stone Chapel venue as 20+ souls slipped into the hall onto the cool floor. We consciously breathed ourselves bare. Already so open from the weekend of somatic, emotional and physical activities, these beautiful humans travelled deep into their hearts, and we came out the other side feeling a deep, collective gratitude.

Thank you, Awaken Yoga Festival, for the gift of this platform and community to share Conscious Connected Breathwork with. Transforming lives, changing hearts and breathing ourselves into wholeness.
